  1. With Edit Mode ON, hover over the Build Content button.

  2. A contextual menu will appear.
  3. Click the File link. 
     Select File from dropdown menuImage Modified
  4. On the Create File page, provide a name for the file in Blackboard. This name appears in the course area as a link.

  5. Click Browse My Computer to upload a file from your computer. A window of your computer files appears.

    1. You can also upload a file from the course's storage repository by click Browse Content Collection
  6. Select the file you wish to upload. Click on Open or Choose (language varies amongst browsers).

  7. The selected file information will appear.

  8. To Click Select a Different File to delete the file you linked and replace it with another.

  9. Click Yes to Open in New Window if you wish to display the content in a new browser window.

  10. Select the Options for the Item:

    1. Click Yes to Permit Users to View this Content if the content is ready to viewed by students. Select NO, if not. 
    2. Click Yes or No to track number of views.
    3. Select dates and times to Display After and Display Until, if you desire to add date restrictions to this Item.
      1. Display restrictions do not affect item availability, only when it appears.
  11. Click Submit.
