Creating Announcements in Your Course
You can create announcements in Blackboard Learn that get Announcements can be sent out to the students in your course. Students are able to can view announcements when they log into in to Blackboard, and you can set announcements up so that students are the settings can be adjusted so they will be notified via email that an announcement has been made in their courseabout the new announcement.
To Create an Announcement in Your Course:
- On the Course Management Menu, expand the Course Tools section, and click Announcements.
- On the Announcements Home Page, click Create Announcement.
- On the Create Announcement Page, type a subject for the announcement.
- Type your announcement message in the message box.
- Under Web Announcement Options, choose whether or not you would to restrict access to the announcement according to a particular start and stop time and or date.Secondly, choose to send an immediate copy of the announcement via email. Note: Students are still sent an email about the announcement, this checkbox sends an immediate email announcement to students in addition to the regular emailto set the announcement as Date Restricted or not.
- To immediately notify and send the announcement to students, click the check box to Send a copy of this announcement immediately.
- Optionally, add a course link to the announcement by clicking Browse and selecting the desired course resource.
- When you are finished, click SubmitClick Submit when finished.
