Creating a Test

  1. On the Course Menu, click on Course Tools

  2. Select Tests, Surveys and Pools. Click on Tests.

  3. Enter a name for the test, and optionally add a description and instructions for the test. 
  4. When you are finished, click Submit.

  5. On the Test Canvas Page, click Create Question to create your first test question.

  6. Select the question type from the list of question types.
    1. Note: To view more information on specific question types, please see the "Test Question Types" page page.
  7. Enter the question, answers, feedback, and any other information required for the question type. Click Submit when you are finished.
  8. Create as many questions as you would like for the test. Optionally, change the point values to the right of each question.

  9. When you are finished creating the test, click OK at the bottom of the page.

Deploying a Test

  1. Click on the content area in which you would like to deploy the test.
  2. Click on the Assessments tab, then select Test from the drop-down menu.
    Image RemovedOn the Create Test page, select the test that you created from the "Add Existing Test" section. Click Submit.

  3. On the Test Options page, add a description, and choose to show or hide the instructions to students prior to taking the test.

  4. Under "Test Availability", check the box next to "Make the Link Available" to make the test available to students.

  5. Optionally, add a timer, set force completion, allow multiple attempts, and set test exceptions.
  6. Optionally, add a due date for the test, and decide when and how you would like test results to be displayed to students.
  7. Finally, choose how you would like the test to be presented to students, all at once, or one question at a time.

  8. When you are finished, click Submit.
