The following images and instructions will guide you through the process of joining a Collaborate meeting.Blackboard Collaborate is a video conferencing tool used by students and instructors. Depending on your Collaborate session's settings, you may be able to participate with your instructor and other students using chat, video, and/or audio tools. Click on the arrows below to learn more about Collaborate's various tools and settings. 
 1. To join a Blackboard Collaborate session, click the teal Join Room or the purple circle option.

  1. To join a Blackboard Collaborate session, click the icon Join Course Room.

    In some cases, your instructor may add a Blackboard Collaborate link to your course menu. Click the Blackboard Collaborate link to be directed to the Blackboard Collaborate page.

  2. Blackboard suggests that students use the Google Chrome browser in order to have the best experience in Collaborate Ultra. If users attempt to enter the room using a different browser (Safari, Firefox, etc.), the following message will appear. Users can choose to continue using a non-Chrome browser by simply clicking the "x" in the upper right area of the message or attempt to enter the room using Google Chrome.

  1. Non-Chrome users will be prompted to test their microphone and camera. Click Yes to start testing.

  1. Click the Allow button to give Collaborate permission to access your microphone and camera.

  1. On the Audio Test page, select a particular microphone by clicking on the drop-down menu.

  1. Select the appropriate microphone option.
