Viewing Test Statistics (Item Analysis)

Blackboard Learn's Item Analysis feature allows instructors to view statistics on tests. These statistics can help identify problem questions or concepts which need more attention. To access the Item Analysis after a test has been completed by students:

...

  1. On the Course Menu open the Course Tools header. Click the Tests, Surveys, and Pools menu item.

  2. Click the blue Tests link.

  3. Click the action button next the to test you would like analyzed, then click Item Analysis in the drop-down menu.

  4. Click the drop-down menu next to Select Test and choose the test you would like analyzed. Once the test is selected, click the Run button.

  5. Click on the name of the test that appears under Available Analysisunder Available Analysis. You may need to click the arrow next to to Available Analysis to view the test name.
    The test link is highlighted under Available Analyisis.
  6. The Item Analysis Screen will open , which displays and display statistics about the overall test and for each individual question.

    1. Information about the test as a whole will be displayed under Test Summary. You can hover over over a cell on this screen for more information about the each statistic.
    2. Information about individual questions will be displayed under Filter Questions. You can use the filters to limit the questions displayed. Clicking on a question title will bring up more detailed information about that question.
