Access room as a guest

Follow these instructions to access a Blackboard Collaborate session if you have been provided with a guest access URL. 

1. Plug in your headset or turn on built in microphone and speakers.Try watching a YouTube video or listening to music from your computer to make sure audio is working. If you have trouble, try restarting your computer.
2. Paste the guest access URL that was given to you into a web browser. 
3. Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the session, and click Submit. 
   
4. If the session does not launch automatically, click Launch Session. 
   
5. Launch the join.jnlp file in your browser. Depending on your settings, you may need to locate the file in your downloads folder. 
   
   1. In Internet Explorer, click Open.

   2. In FireFox, select the Open radio button, and click OK. 
      
   3. In Google Chrome, 
      
      1. Click Keep. 
         
      2. Double Click on the file name to launch. 
         
   4. In Safari, click Open. You may need to confirm to Run the application. 
      
6. In your Blackboard Collaborate session, click Audio Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to optimize your audio. 
   
7. You are ready to participate!
