Re-Grading a Test Question
Re-Grading a Test Question
You may realize that a question on your test or quiz is set up incorrectly after students have started or completed the test. You can make changes to the question and/or scoring even after students have taken the test. There are options to change which response is correct, award full credit to all students, or remove the question from the test.
- Log in to your Blackboard Course.
- Click the Full Grade Center link below Grade Center on your course menu (under Course Management and Control Panel).
- Navigate to the Test you would like to make changes to using the horizontal scroll bar.
- Click the Action Link next to the name of the test in the header of the Full Grade Center.
- Click Edit Test in the Action Link menu. This will open the Test Canvas page.
- Scroll down to find the question you would like to make changes to.
- Make the changes to the test question.
- On the Create/Edit page that opens, you can edit the text of the question, the answers, and any feedback by editing the text boxes.
- You can set which multiple choice answer is the correct one by clicking the bubble to the left of that answer.
- Once you have made your changes, click the Submit and Update Attempts button in the lower right of the window.
- To change the correct answer or edit the text of the question or answers, click the Action Link next to the question Title and click Edit. This will open the Create/Edit page for the question.
- To change the point value of the question or to award full points to students regardless of the answer they provided, click on the point value number after Points: to the right of the question title. This will open a menu.
- The text box on the left allows you to change the total point value of the question.
- The Extra Credit checkbox changes the question to be extra credit, so correct answers add to the studentâs score without any change to the total points for the test. Note: Using Extra Credit questions can allow students to get grades higher than 100%.
- The Full Credit checkbox gives all students full credit for that question, regardless of which answer they provided.
- Once you have made your changes, click the Submit and Regrade button on the right of the menu.
- To delete the question, click the Action Link next to the question Title and click Delete and Regrade.
