Upload Videos to a Discussion or Assignment
Upload Videos to a Discussion or Assignment
These instructions will guide you through embedding a Video into the Content Editor box in a discussion in Blackboard Learn. This feature is only available in Blackboard, and is not available in Moodle courses.
- Navigate to the Discussion Post or the Assignment Submission page where you would like to add the embedded video. Scroll down to the Message box.
- For Discussions, you can add a video to the textbox in a new post or in a response post.
- For Assignments, you can add a video to the textbox that appears after selecting the Write Submission button on the assignment page.
- Select the Add Content icon, which looks like a + sign inside of a circle. You may need to click the ... icon to open the full list of options. The Add Content pop-up will open.
- Select Echo360 Video Library.
- Select theĀ Upload Existing Media tab.
- Click the Select Media button. Choose the video file that you would like to use from your computer.
- Click the Upload button. The video will take several minutes to upload, depending on the file's size and your internet speed. A progress bar will track the upload.
- Once the upload is complete, you will see a pop-up that says Files uploaded successfully. Click the close button to be brought back to the Echo360 Video Library pop-up.
- Select the video you uploaded from the list of videos. It will be highlighted. Click the Next button.
- Edit the options on the Embed Options page. The default settings will usually be appropriate, but these allow you to change the size of the video, when the video will start playing, and make other choices. Click the Insert button to return to Blackboard.
- The video will appear as a large box with the Echo360 logo. Click the Submit button to finalize the process.
Please note that Echo360 can take some time to finish processing the video after it has been uploaded. You will receive an email when it is available to watch.
