Options for Online Student Presentations

Presentations can be done in a variety of ways in the online environment. Below is sample language that explains these options to the students and allows them to choose the best option for themselves (or their group). These are examples that you can revise according to your preferences.

You will have a choice of several options for creating and sharing your presentation online to complete the presentation assignment. If you are working in teams be sure to choose a solution that works for all team members. Begin by selecting one of the following options to complete your presentation:

  • Use Zoom.
    • You can learn more about using Zoom and how to access it using the following link https://www.umass.edu/it/zoom.
    • Hold a live presentation in Zoom during your regularly scheduled class time and answer questions from live participants. If you choose this method, communicate when you are going to hold the live session so that classmates can be notified in advance. For this assignment you will need to record the session and submit the link for the assignment and share the link in the discussion forum and answer questions.
    • Record a presentation in Zoom. For this assignment you will need to record the session and submit the link for the assignment and share the link in the discussion forum and answer questions.

Note:
If you have another option that would work better for you, contact your Instructor in advance with your proposed solution. They will decide whether to accept the option or if you will need to use one of the above options.

Once you have selected how you will complete your presentation assignment, contact your instructor and let them know which option you have selected. Please follow due dates set by your instructor.

Reminder:

In addition to submitting this assignment, you will also need to share your presentation by posting it in the related discussion.
