Is your Mac's browser blocking pop-up windows?

While most content within Blackboard Learn resides in one main browser window, occasionally various applets or pages will appear inside a pop-up window. It is important that your browser settings are configured to allow this to happen so that you can properly access all of your course's materials.

 Safari

1. Navigate to the Blackboard Learn login page. Log into Blackboard Learn.

2. Select Safari on the menu bar and click Preferences. The Preferences window appears.

3. Navigate to the Websites tab.

4. Scroll down on the left to Pop-up Windows and locate the BlackBoard website.

5. Click Allow from the preferences.

 Google Chrome

1. Navigate to the Blackboard Learn login page. Log into Blackboard Learn.

2. Click on the View Site Information button located on the left side of the browser's address bar. The Site Information window appears.

3. Click Site Settings

4. Scroll down to Permissions and the find Pop-ups and redirects and check Allow.

 Mozilla Firefox

1. Navigate to the Blackboard Learn login page. Log into Blackboard Learn.

2. Click on the Lock icon located on the left side of the address bar.

3. Click the arrow next to Connection secure

4. Locate Open Pop-up Windows and uncheck Default

Note: Make sure at the top of the window you are changing the setting for the Blackboard website.

5. Click Allow to allow pop-ups.

OR

  1. Select Firefox in the top left of the screen, then click Preferences 

2. Click Privacy & Settings on the left, then uncheck Block Pop-up Windows to allow pop-up windows
