Attaching a File to a Discussion Post
You can attach a file to your discussion posts. This can be used for some assignments, such as adding a photo to an introduction post, or attaching a paper to a post for peer review.
- Navigate to the discussion. This may be available through the Discussions link on the Course Menu, or may be within a group or another location in the course.
- Click on the Name of the Forum where you will need to post the file.
- Click the Create Thread button on the bar across the top of the Forum.
- Or, if you would like to attach the file to a reply, click on the Name of the Thread you are replying to, and then click the Reply button.
- Or, if you would like to attach the file to a reply, click on the Name of the Thread you are replying to, and then click the Reply button.
- Give your Thread a name in the Subject text box. This is the name that will appear on the Forum page.
- Enter a Message into the large text box under the Message header. This is the text the will appear as part of your discussion post.
- Scroll down to the Attachments section and click the Browse My Computer button. This will open a popup that will allow you to browser your computer.
- Navigate to the file you would like to upload, click on the file to highlight it, then click the Open button.
- You may change the name of the link to the file that will appear under your post by changing the text in the Name of link to file text field.
- Click the Submit button to submit your post.
